Many Lamps - Same Light
In this dual existence on every level, there is a middle way. Nature teaches this in Her seasons, and in our need for each other. September is the time of balance between light & dark,  a celebration of all pairs of opposites. For example, Rosh Hoshanna, beginning of the Jewish New Year, celebrates the anniversary of the creation of Adam & Eve,  and their/our realization of dependence upon our Creator & Sustainer, and its dependence upon us as the ones who make the Beloved's presence known & felt in the world, which leads to Yom Kippur, after 10 days of contemplation of all the ways we have lived in cross purposes to that very special relationship, we seek at-one-ment. (continued...)
How beautiful this moment
To share holy presence with you
I open my heart to this moment
And let the light of our love
shine through.

"The Path of the Heart"

Patrick's House:
505 SW 27th Street, off SW 2nd Ave, Golfview Subdivision, Gainesville, FL

“Being on the path of the heart transforms your awareness from aloneness to all-oneness, from separation to unity. In unity we perceive love, feel love, express love and accept that we are Love. How will you feel & be Love today?
Robin Schwoyer

Sufism is the essence of all religions & its influence is upon all. Sufism was intellectually born in Arabia, devotionally reared in Persia, & spiritually completed in India. Every event has its time, & it has been ordained by the Supreme Will that East & West shall now unite in the bond of love & wisdom which neither politics nor commerce can bring about, but only the call of God, the Lord of both East & West.
Hazrat Inayat Khan
Diana Kanoy as "stand-up witness"
for protecting Florida's waters

The high point of a week of  information presented to St. John’s River Water Management District was the public hearing held on Thurs., Aug. 28.  More than 100 concerned citizens from Jacksonville to Ocala delivered passionate testimony as to why such an intensive use of Adena Cattle Ranch (aka Sleepy Creek) property & our groundwater resources should not be allowed. It was truly moving, providing fuel for the soul & further evidence that this project is clearly not in the public interest.
Candles Representing Many Religions

(...continued from left column)
Ahhh, duality, what would we have to gain if not for you who strengthens our unity?

And if all that were not enough, The Hindus celebrate nine aspects of the divine feminine, Nava Ratri, and the Taoists celebrate the divine masculine, The Nine Emperor Gods, over the same time. We are in store for a very rich & festive interfaith service.

Responses to our August Zikr

I found the evening particularly enjoyable in light of nature’s energy Conjoining the circle  - the sound of falling rain in the silence after a chant, the feel of the Air as the ionization of the storm infused the night and the smell of thunder's lighting roiling and rolling all around us. We were a perfect antidote to the big UF game which was washed out. I would certainly  attend again as my schedule allows. I like meeting new people and connecting with these birds of a feather.   Be Well. Bob

I had a wonderful time on Sat. The most beautiful part of the evening for me was when we sang the three parts of  "Karim Allah" acapella. It was absolutely gorgeous! I was transported. It was so wonderful to be in the middle of it all! Once again, thanks for bringing us together in Sufi community my dear friend!    Love,  Rebecca

My experience was being part of a moving and well-directed gathering.                              Isabel
"The Way of the Heart" is a luminous chronicle of Inayat Khan's journey to the West and the wisdom of Sufism he transmitted.  It reminds us that divinity can be found in the depths of every heart. It sounds a note of universal harmony in response to the great need of the world today.

The riveting story of how a Sufi woman of mixed Indian & American parentage (daughter of Inayat Khan & Ora Ray Baker Khan), came to serve as a British spy in Paris during World War II.
A Hawk on the Dock at Beauty Lake
Dancing Peacock Paradise

Adjacent property owners to the Sleepy Creek/Adena Springs Ranch shared stories of diminished quality of life as a result of the intensive land-clearing that has occurred & herd of cattle already located onsite. One neighbor showed a video of manure-filled storm-water from the Ranch flowing onto her property. Others spoke of dry wells, sinkholes & drained lakes due to excessive pumping from our already over-tapped aquifer.

Spring & river advocates stood united, making a powerful & articulate statement about the value of Florida’s waterways & critical need to protect them for current & future generations.  Not one citizen spoke on behalf of the massive beef operation.
